Day care

Stord has a number of both private and municipal kindergartens offering full-time services five days a week. You may also apply for reduced-time in all the kindergartens.

How to apply

You apply for kindergarten via our electronic application form, whether you choose a private kindergarten or one run by the municipality. If you need help with your application, the staff at our Town Hall Service Centre (Kundetorget) will be glad to help.

When to apply

In order for your application to be considered in the main admission process for the following kidergarten-year (august-july), you must send your application within March 15. If your application arrives at other times of the year, you may be admitted to a kindergarten if there are places available. If not, you may have to wait until there are places available at one of the kindergartens.
